The company was founded in 1907, is located in Bodø, Norway and has 100 employees. Our arctic location has given us an unique opportunity to develop and manufacture equipment for the marine sector. Today, hydraulic anchor-, mooring-, towing, research- and trawl winches with automatic control and monitoring systems are among our most important product areas. (Houston, TX)—The Rapp Hydema-Rapp Bomek team return to Houston’s OTC this year, at Booth #5041. The booth is within the Norwegian Pavilion, as per tradition. But this year Rapp Hydema is recipient of the OTC’s prestigious Spotlight on Technology Award—for new innovative technologies. Rapp’s newest liquid-cooled motor design (patented Norway, patent-pending U.S.) was one of just 13 recipient-technologies recognized for the award this year. We welcome all comers, here’s to seeing you at this premier show for the offshore technologies!

TOM SANDEL: R.I.P. 1953-2009 (5. jan 2010)
Tom Sandel, longtime General Manager of Rapp’s Dutch Harbor facility, passed away December 9, 2009 in Seattle. Tom had been, in every way, the face of Rapp Hydema to countless fishermen over the years, having worked for Rapp Hydema since 1992. Tom fought admirably in a twilight battle with cancer, enduring over a year of hardship.
